1. Do all the obvious planning!
2. Take time to find the kitchen you want and make sure you get all quotes in writing.
3. Check availability and delivery times – it’s no good getting the kitchen you want if you have to wait 6 months to get it!
4. Expect something to go wrong! Always better to be prepared than not!
5. Clarify who will remove the old kitchen units. There are companies like www.WeClearJunk.com who will remove any household junk / waste. They collect the junk and load it themselves, but it must be “lose” i.e. removed
6. Make provisions for the possibility of delays! Always have an alternative cooking source and water / washing up source, in case of delays.
7. Try paying half or a third of the invoice on completion. This will encourage the contractors to make sure all the little things are finished.
